I have the honour to refer to your despatch No.329 of 5th September, 1936, enclosing copies of correspondence between the Colonial Office and the War Office on the subject of the regularisation of the Military tenure of certain plots of land in the Victoria Cantonment, and to inform you that as no immediate prospect of a settlement of this matter is seen, I propose to leave these questions open for argument on the occasion of any future transaction which would render a settlement necessary.
